Brown Bag
Organics in the age of Coronavirus
We have looked at some of the best practices that are
recommended to use for boosting immunity and working to stay healthy in this
uncertain time. And the uncertainty extends to our shops and the products we
buy, and in fact the entire supply chain of industry that supplies our food and
groceries.
However, in a tentative return to normal, we’ve been looking at
some of the things that are best buys-Brown Bag buys-for the coming months. And
in addition to the one-pager, the idea that Brown Bag has been founded on,
finding the best prices and healthiest products without spending too much
money, is still one that will help us through the following months.
In terms of best buys, here’s what we found for the month of MAY
2020:
·
Soaps & Lotions: Some of the most
overpriced items particularly for women are the soaps, cleansers & lotions
that are sold to women. For the daily routine, we have found products with
Witch Hazel toner and Aloe Vera for less than 10 dollars. There is a deep pore
face soap for $5.99 and a Facial Spray for $8.24 found on Vitamin Shoppe this month.(*Most of these products are available on Vitamin Shoppe in May)
·
Mad Hippie Products: I have fallen in
love with these products, I confess! The Mad Hippie name has been a big selling
point, but one of their best deals is a cleanser for under 13 dollars.
·
Anti Aging Products: Vitamin C Serums are good to keep and use
daily- the best deal currently is for 21 dollars; Tea Tree is another product to
have on hand and the cheapest is about 7 dollars.
Mad Hippie has a Peptides product for less than 21 dollars.
Serums are something to add
to your nightly routine- the cheapest I see are around 20 dollars. Vitamin C Serum is available for 21 dollars. Tea
Tree Treatment- 6.99/ Mad Hippie again! A serum with Peptides for less than 21 dollars. The most expensive is a Vitamin A serum for $26.39. The two others we see are a Turmeric
serum from Andalou for just 20 dollars, and Resveratrol Repair for 20 dollars.
·
Facial Lotion- Facial Lotions are also something to stock up and keep on hand; especially when there's a sale! The Best Deals : Andalou has a lotion for $12.99; Derma-E has Glow Oil for 12 dollars; There is a Vitamin C Moisturizer for $18.99. Best Deals: Reviva has a Serum I've often used for just $14.99; There's a Tea Tree Touch stick for $9.99. And Jojoba Oil is something to use for hair & skin to keep on hand always. This month it's just $14.99
·
Best Deals: Jojoba Oil for 14.99 and Tea
Tree Treatment for 6.99
·
Digestive Support for Trying times:
For digestive support, and in recent months, who among us hasn’t suffered a bit
of indigestion or heartburn during the pandemic? For times when your stomach
needs help: We recommend Aloe Vera water to drink daily; I also use Digestive Enzymes and if you are
having particular issues, take them with meals. Each day, I take Acidophilus
and Aloe Vera Water in the morning first thing.
There are many good Probiotics on
the market. We recommend that you have
on hand: A good Probiotic powder or pill; Acidophilus; Aloe Vera water & Charcoal tablets.
·
Best Deals: This month: Peppermint Oil & Fiber Gummy’s
In summary, there are so many choices for woman and families who are looking for the best quality and for lower prices always. It does pay to shop around, and we always recommend that you stock up on items that you use every day, such as essential oils and lotions. Women are always cautioned to be wary of expensive lotions, serums and anti-aging products that cost excessive amounts. Chances are in most cases you can find a product for a fraction of the cost that does the same thing. Until next time...stay well & be happy, Brown Baggers!- ML
